A native of Blaenau Ffestiniog he started broadcasting on the radio in Wales in 1966. He was also a member of the news team on the daily news programme ‘Y Dydd’ on TWW. Before his retirement in 2004, he worked as a Manager-Editor with Dydd Press in Dolgellau, starting as an employee of Radio Ceredigion in September 2005 presenting the programme ‘Ceryl Cyn Cinio. Ceryl volunteered with Radio Ceredigion almost from day 1 presenting programmes such as ‘Am Ddeg’ and ‘Gwenau Gwener’ for many years. He has hosted many concerts and eisteddfods over the years in Britain and abroad, and is a national winner of the short drama competition. Dros Ginio A light hearted programme in the company of Ceryl Davies. The show includes chat and all sorts of music, as well as details of many interesting events in the west. Ceryl will be giving information on events from the past to co-incide with each day, and he will also be holding competitions from time to time where listeners will have a chance to win some lovely prizes. In the chat slot at around half past eleven every day, Ceryl will have the company of regulars such as Arwyn Pierce (Monday) and Edwina Davies (Friday). On Tuesdays, focus is placed on the Arts; Wednesdays focus is on community matters, and Thursday is reserved for Ceredigion’s Strategy For Older People. |
